Guitar Tuition

If you're a complete beginner, or have even been playing for a few years and need a point in the right direction, we offer professional one-on-one guitar tuition and specialize in all electric / acoustic guitar techniques and styles, including:

- Rock:
          Power chords, palm muting, finger tapping, sweep picking, legato,
             alternate and economy picking etc..
- Funk
- Jazz
- Pop
- Folk
- Indie
- Improvisation

Music theory is incorporated into the lessons, however students who do not wish to do this will not be pushed.

All ages are welcome. From experience, we would recommend students start from the age of 7 upwards.

LESSONS

Lessons are £15 per half hour. They are paid for on the day, however you can pay upfront if you prefer. I accept cash and cheques ONLY.

Any lesson cancelled without 24 hours notice will incur the full payment of the lesson fee. If more than 2 lessons are cancelled out of 5, your space may be given away to someone else on the waiting list.

ELECTRIC GUITAR GRADES

Students who wish to obtain grades in electric guitar, only have to ask and we can take you through all 9 grades, from preliminary to grade 8. This is with London College of Music, one of the world's most respected music examination boards. Please visit www.registryofguitartutors.co.uk for further information on taking electric guitar grades.

We highly recommend taking these grades as they teach you all the fundamentals from beginner to advanced, and will help build your general musicianship and listening skills. Each exam is awarded with a certificate, and have three grade boundaries - pass, merit, distinction.

All Registry of Guitar Tutors graded exams are accredited by the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA) and have been placed on the National Qualifications Framework. UCAS points for universities are also awarded for exam grades 6 to 8.
